  • The name it´s because the similitude with the pyroxenes. It´s found in crystals and aggregates granulars. The crystals are tabulars or prismatics.
  • Red, pink in differents tones, brown pinky, sometimes dark due alterations. It has a vitreus brightness, nacred. Transparent to opaque, sometimes but not usually, transparent.
  • Confusions: Rhodonite, Bustamite.
  • Treatments: Unknown.
  • Localities: España (Spain) has massive pyroxmangita, good quality in El Molar (Tarragona).
  • Gemologicals uses: The transparent Pyroxmangite it´s scarce, if it founds it use to be faceted for a collectors. The massive in cab and carving.
