  • The name comes from the blue colour that has the Lazulite. In arabic Azraqun = blue and in greek lithos =stone. It´s clear blue, dark blue and blue-green. Rarely it´s found in crystals. Normaly are aggregates massives and granulars.
  • Localities: Rare. In Península Ibérica in gem quality we just know the variety that cames from Mancorra (Portugal) that has a clear matrix with blue globules.
  • Confusions: With other blue stones: azurite, lapis lazuli, sodalite.
  • Treatments: Unknown.
  • Gemologicals uses: In cab, beads.
