  • The name jet it´s because a river from Turkey: the Gagas, in greek called gagates, then derived to french and english with the name of jaiet. Organic origen. Created in Jurasic time. It´s the product of the descomposition anaerobic and the fossititzated of the plants. It founds like a sheets, sometimes whith the wood marc from where it comes.
  • It exist two kinds of jet: the hard, the wich one it´s very compact and it has lost the pore, it can be polish very well and it doesn´t loose it by time. The soft, doesn´t admit this polish as well. There are a jet who contains pirite and marcasite; this is not adequated like a gem.
  • Localities: Asturias: San Clemente de Quintuelles, Villaverde, Santa Cecilia de Careñes, San Félix de Olés. Teruel: de Montalban a Hijar. Granada: Fornés, Arenas del Rey.
  • Imitations: Vulcanite (o ebonite). Bakelite. Epoxi resin. Coals. Andracite. Slate, dye horn, glasses, Onyx, dye chalcedony .
  • Our jet is natural, without treatments.
